Parked next to a Jeep tonight with massive tires. I mean, bloody hell, these are huge.
Mine? 31.5” , give or take (265/75R16) . Theirs? 40” . Yuuuu uge!
I have some vague hope that if I have a flat tire I can change it myself despite my bad back . As much as I’d love to have beefy tires like that, I’d never be able to manhandle them.
It does look good, undeniably. Except for that color-matched hardtop, because CONTRAST IS GOOD DAMMIT JEEP DESIGNERS.

I have 30.5x 10.5 on my Isuzu and my God that thing would be slow with bigger tires.

I’ve never really been dissatisfied with the power my I6 gives me; I bet on the shorter wheelbase TJs it’s even perkier.
I have to imagine I’d be thinking about an engine swap if I went to 40” though.

I’m work with 145 hp, so I need all the advantage I can get.

40s? Geez. Too much rubber.

That’s absurd (and not in a good way)
Also, you have the same size tires as my 4Runner.

40" tires and Fox coilover suspension. That Jeep has a lot of work (money) put into it. I’d have probably looked for a tire carrier that would mount the spare lower though, because there’s absolutely no rear visibility with that thing back there.

I had 35s on my TJ and every time it took it I hoped I wouldn’t get a flat. First cause heavy, and second, I wasn’t sure if stock jack would lift it high enough.

I’d be curious whether they upgraded the axles too, but not nearly curious enough to crawl under there and fail to identify anything anyway because ignorant.

Yeah lol, “Yup, that’s an axle. Looks prett y beefy ” is about all I’d get by looking at it.

It does not look good.
